I DID SOMETHING STUPID

CONSCIOUS CONSEQUENCES

I often make stupid decisions,

Disregarding my wit and superstitions,

Conscious of the consequences,

I go ahead, expectant of a terrible end;

Consumed by emotion,

With no clear intention.

Regret follows in sequence,

A constant of the conscious consequence.

I lose a lot more than I stood to gain in the moment,

Some close friends become distant,

Or seize to be called 'friends' at all,

No more late night phone calls,

Arguments about how I'm short and your tall-

Dread consumes me whole.
